According to an eyewitness, a D.C. Police detective (pictured above w/ gun) went nuts after kids pelted his Hummer with snowballs at 14th and U Streets NW this afternoon.

The veteran detective got out of his car and eventually grabbed for his gun, displaying it to the crowd. He did not immediately identify himself as a police officer. He calmed down once his fellow uniformed cop arrived.

Apparently, someone called 911 to report a man with gun. The snowball fight had been well hyped on Twitter. The news of the incident first broke there.

Well, sometimes kids just need a good scare.

I remember throwing snowballs at cars, they would stop they're car
and start cursing at us. But bustin out a gun? Hmmmm...
I wonder who would win that one.
 
i saw it on fox news live this morning...it was cool.

Apparently, some one did hit him with a snowball after he pulled his gun. He randomly threatened to arrest various members of the crowd. He was pissed that people hit his precious hummer. Dude needs to lose the power trip.

about three years ago two kids were whipping eggs at cars. one guy stopped and pulled out a nine mil and began shooting.

he hit one kid right in the chest.... game over.

Around here I think they barely get in the $30ks.

The last time an event like this happened it was in Boston and it didn't end to well lol

and how much of that is legal? :eek:

in the movie 'cocaine cowboys' the cops in florida made $15K. so the dealers offered them $30K++ to look the other way for a few minutes.

that's one way to eke out a living...
