Cutting out CPA Networks

One of the best things I did with a medium traffic site (long ago) was to remove adsense and go direct with some of the advertisers. Just took me some work to watch the ads for a few months, create a spreadsheet with candidates and then find their direct contacts.

Google charges like $2 t o$4 per click in this niche, but my adsense CPC was like $ 0.10 which is ridiculous. Proposing a 50% discount on the adwords cost, the advertiser will save half and you still make several times more than with adsense, just to give one example of going direct. You got more hassles and you do your own accounting, but that's the price to pay.
