I have a shipment from China that got seized by customs. I call Fedex and they asked for my tax ID, which I don't have so I have to give them my SSN. They gave me forms to fill out as well as bill for taxes I owe. I haven't received a seizure mail from customs yet so I'm not entirely sure what they are being seized for just yet but they are "china items" so I'm not sure if its wise to call in to the customs or give them my ssn. I guess it all comes down to whether or not they opened any of the packages.

Surprised there is no reply to this. But are these copywrite/trademark items? If so, I would just cut your losses and ignore them. I assume that is a possibility? Were they shipping to your house and had your name on the package?
I would think asking for your SSN is a way to turn your info over to the copywrite/trademark owner.
When you ship into the country, do you put your own name as the cosigner? I would just use a fake name and pre-paid phone number for the cosigner contact.
