Twitter wil automatically shorten urls by its own url shortening systems. I am starting a url shortening system. Is it possible to use my own (custom) url shortening ?

I know it is not possible via direct tweeting in twitter website. I am asking about a trick for tweeting via API.

Not sure I understand you, but yes, it is possible to have your own URL shortener. It works well if you use a different client rather than the website (hootsuite or tweetdeck for example).

I think it's possible. I have seen some bots are having such built it features that automatically shortens the links before posting on twitter.

AtomicTweets and TweetAttacks can use one shorten link and they are changing it with ?=444 (random number or letters), making it unique.

I think if you post a short url twitter won't try to shorten it for you. I think its a good idea to use your own url shortening software that way you don't have to force your visitors to view ads from some other url shortening site.

I use goo.gl, no ads and good statistic. Before used bit/ly but too much is used for spam and people tend to not click on them like before.

I posted my links shortened by bit.ly, but twitter changed them to t.co

Twitter will automatically change your shortened link to t.co, from my knowledge there is no way to change that.

Not always, try goo.gl/12345 (random string) and if tweet is short enough, like 90 chars, he will not change it. Softwares like TA and atomictweets adding random string to link making it longer, so twitter is shortening it - sometimes.
