Got a question for everyone. Peerfly and CPALEAD both released a cool new feature. i use peerfly for nonincent stuff and CPALEAD for incentive. The feature is custom tracking domains where instead of using
the networks domain you can use your own for tracking and that way you never get blocked. I think its a sick feature since networks always get blocked so its huge for my cpalead traffic and my peerfly for my social ads.
the doc on how to use it is here https://www.cpalead.com/documentation/custom-tracking/ for incentive and here http://blog.peerfly.com/2015/12/02/custom-tracking-domain/ for non.

i get how to setup but my question to people is this. i never wanna get blocked again ever. i have some good traffic or decent anyways. how often should you rotate? im not spamming or running bullshit traffic just clean stuff but i know you still get blocked. do you check your links? every network im with i was always seeing adblock block my ads so i know i lost traffic. cpalead got better and now they auto rotate every few weeks which is great but i just feel more comfortable using their custom and same on peerfly cause they dont rotate otherwise. does anyone know of a tool that notifies you when your domain starts getting blocked? how do you manage it? its a bit moot with cpalead now cause they are doing their fast domain rotation but this literally makes all the difference in the world to never get blocked. it sucks when u invest traffic and its blocked.

Bumping this since I wanna know too. Especially about, if any, tool that notifies when your domain gets canned

I don't think there's a tool or certain period of time, I think you just have to watch it and check. If there is though I'd also be interested to know...

Hi Guys,

This is one of our features and JagWilson had asked for our thoughts on this thread so here it is.

URL Block Detection Software?

First, there is no available ready-to-go software we know of that alerts you when one of your URLs are blocked. It's something that you need to code out. It isn't that difficult but I don't think it makes as much sense for an individual to invest in. For us, a network, its different and building the tool out can make sense. However, when you're using our custom domain feature, its somewhat of a moot point since you won't get caught up with ad blockers very often as all.

How frequent to change your domain / URL?

With a custom URL / Domain, you really don't need to do it very often. I would say that every 6-8 months is fine and if you want to be extremely pro-active, you could do it every 4th month. Of course, checking in after running a campaign or from time to time helps. It also depends on how aggressive your campaign is. If you're doing something very "aggressive" and have a lot of traffic, I'd check in frequently and be prepared to change every month or so. With CPAlead, we typically see a shelf life of 2-3 months per domain and that's with competitors (who have nothing to do) reporting us all day long and us sending a lot of traffic. However, we're a bit different from other networks and we're the only ones that automatically rotate at a much higher frequency to make sure you're never blocked. We also get alerts not only through our software but our affiliate base. We're always ahead of the curve but its good to have people watching out.

So if you're running on your own or using our custom feature, use the guidelines above. If you're using one of our domains, don't worry, we have you covered.

I hope that helps

Peter

thanks Peter. i think what im gonna do is for some stuff use custom. Just when i want a specific name on the domain or have a really risky campaign im pushing but then the rest of the time not worry. I see the different domains u guys are rotating so that should be fine. Glad youre on top of it. Still interested in a tool if you guys ever want to make available what you have. itd be cool to have
