    Hi,
Do you guys think using a custom theme is better than using Thesis/Genesis framework themes on a new professional blog I am about to start? What's the best theme for a blog in your opinion? and what theme you guys are using on your blog?

    P.S
    I'll use WordPress.

Its obvious that u use WP since u are talking about Thesis/Genesis :). About ur question, i always go for custom theme. If you want to build something BIG, you need custom job, if not u can use existing themes. You know better what do you want to do.

My advice as someone who uses WP and genesis a lot would be a custom theme built as a child theme of the genesis framework. I tried thesis but could never get the hang of it and I noticed recently some of the people who previously designed thesis themes have switched over. They also have great support

It was posted for trolls with "what CMS you'll use" :)
What's the best place to find custom theme dev?

IMO thesis is better than Genesis but it seems that I have to invest time in (re)searching again.

I personally use Genesis on everything because It's really intuitive. Tried to use Thesis but it was a b!tch to figure out and I hate the interface. Genesis has done really well in SEO for me and I don't think if I switched to thesis it would make that big of a difference. Like someone else said here, you can mod the child theme or make a new one and it will look completely different from the bland style it originally has.

I am planning to add Genesis to my dev's list too. I'll run a poll/survey shortly.

I love Thesis. It's my first choice of theme when doing a new site. Though I am loving Thematic too these days, just 'cus it's free. ^^
