I'm talking about ads like what colleges send you that has your name on it. I remember that back when I had applied to several colleges a lot of them had sent me personalized ads that said "Hey XYZ check out our campus" etc. on postcards etc. with XYZ being my actual name. I imagine they must use a special printing company to pull that off unless they have a deal where they already have common names set up and then just reorder them? Regardless, if anyone knows of a method of pulling this off in an effective manner outside of DIY printing I would appreciate it as most print on demand places like Staples etc. tend to be pricey for just one item. There is also the option of using those instant photos at CVS etc. for photo sized prints but for certain projects, I'd rather use an actual post card.

Go become friends with your local printing companies, trust me there is not just Staples. There should be a few printing shops in your area. Do some work for them in exchange for receiving a large discount on their services. It's a VERY valuable friendship to have if you're planning on doing a lot of offline work.
