Ok so I'm about to be in the process of creating a 2 websites,to start off I'm considering 1 ecommerce niche site(I've learned you can NOT compete against Amazon and Ebay) and 1 affiliate marketing niche review site but obviously I wanna rank and get search engine traffic as soon as the next day I start the site(I know it's impossible but I still wonder how those sites that get updated with news rank as soon as a few hours of an incident)BUT I can wait.My question to you guys is,which route(blackhat vs white hat) do you guys REALLY think is the best for longterm traffic(10 years to come)and less maintenance?I honestly wanna lean towards White hat because it's obviously more safe/less risky in the eyes of search engines and probably more easier to maintain but I'm not sure how long it takes keywords to rank(I had one site before get page 1 for a VERY specific product and got a visitor because of it but not sure when the word was ranked),BUT on the other hand I think if I go Blackhat and can see about 20,000 unique visitors per month starting this month I get tempted lol.

So long story short? For longterm results and mid to low maintenance which method do you guys prefer for a website?I want to live off this and since I'm in North FLorida and single I can easily live by myself off 2500 a month. Also I know I've read google can slap down a blackhat website in as short as a month but in a estimate what's the life term of a blackhat website staying in ranks, like a few months?

If you are that confused, why not have best of both worlds? Make 2 niche sites in same niche, one WH and other you do BH. ;)

With several Google updates about to be flying around why not wait a bit before launching anything new. I think we will be surprised by what the new Penguin Live brings.

Believe it or not I literally considered this BUT I knew it'd be duplicate content if I started posting the same things on both site(I'm not creative enough to write 2 completely different 500 word reviews on a clickbank product I've never used lol),I was gonna consider just copying and pasting the product's landing page like I did before but I'm not too sure how legal that is if the vendor just so happens to go on a rage fit or if I even have a chance in search engines for the number 1 spot.

To be honest I probably will be waiting simply because like I said I'm mainly focused on E-Commerce since I DO know that a bit and I'm interested in atleast seeing if Ebay and Amazon would be possible for making a stable living off of,so I can just focus on those two and wait for the update to make my websites.Do you know where I can go to find when these new google updates are scheduled to come out?I searched a bit but was getting results about google chrome updates and android.Lastly, when was the last update?

There no such thing as white hat seo ...Every single attempt to do seo of your website is black hat process

Whitehat SEO is creating original content and trying to gain links through social interaction. As soon as you build a link beyond a directory submission or some other similar process, you are in the realms of "blackhat". Just do what works and use your brain.
