CTR

CTR does not directly influence rankings. For some reasons, CTR is considered as an indirect ranking factor. Even though it is not a direct ranking factor, you should still take care on this.

CTR is an important factor for ranking signal..!! No doubt CTR should be considered as a Google ranking factor section and CTR which gives a huge impact on your ranking indirectly. Google will reward the best stuff with the better position. One of the points of this post is that it CTR appears to be even MORE important to organic rankings when looking at long tail keywords. So you should focus on to improve your organic CTR it will helpful for organic ranking signal..!

ah.

so I get me a bunch of smartphones, different sims and contracts.
search a phrase and click on my listing daily.
should move the result up if I am correct?
oh wait. I would only do that on low comp..

if CTR "would be " a ranking signal, there would be 333 BST out there selling stuff like that.

is not easy so
google will bann your ip soon
if you use sim card with normal ip
you will need proxies backconnect that change ip every 5.6 minutes
 
Mate...CTR indirectly dealt on Google Rankings. You just drop an eye on it. Thats all.
 
Google has stated multiple times that CTR is not a factor.

I wonder if they are playing a word game to be technically honest while evading the question.

It makes for a good theory:

Basis for Authority: Backlinks
Basis for Relevance: TF/IDF
Basis for Quality: Repeat Visitation

It seems test worthy.

I know. thats why i said "a ton of real sims" .

I just wanted to make some indirect point that CTR is NOT a "ranking" factor.

Based off of what a lot of experts in the industry have said, I believe it does have influence in the SERP. But needs to stay consistent in order to have lasting results.

Here is some interesting experience I had recently:
  1. A competitor reoptimized their title tag for better CTR
  2. I believe their increased CTR made me lose a featured snippet to them that I had been holding for months
  3. To counter this, I matched their CTA/offer to try and do the same... maybe even did a better job than them
  4. The next morning I recovered the featured snippet
This is just one anecdotal instance of it supposedly working, but it helped sway my opinion even more.

Best case scenario, better CTR can influence position. Worst case, you're not ranking better but you're still getting clicked on. My 2 cents, always keep CTR in mind when optimizing title tags and meta descriptions.
 
Mixed opinions on CTR for ranking purposes. I'd watch Rand fishkin's white board friday (search on youtube) on CTR to make your own conclusion. Check out Josh Macdonald on the forums he runs a crowdsourcing tool that gets you clicks.
 
yes but i already have a tool that gets me clicks,he works well,my site go better up in that country where the tool cilcks more
 
Guys... guys... I've only read the first few posts, but I have to jump in here. CTR absolutely 100% DOES affect rank. It is most certainly a factor. However, it is not a factor you can "fake" anymore, as it seems Google only gauges CTR data from "trusted users." By this I mean you can make a bot with proxies click your SERP all day long and it won't do a thing. It is generally believed that these days Google only looks at users who are logged into reputable Google accounts (and possibly only on Chrome) to gauge click through rate.

So you can't fake it. But you CAN do things to improve your site's CTR by writing better page titles and descriptions. Few here understand how CRUCIAL these are. They are as important as ad content is in Adwords, which is VERY important. Also you can prevent back clicks by improving your design and content. Forget the "tools" and work on these.

I believe CTR is a ranking factor, but it's not very easy to fake.

There are people who use tools like BrowSEO to do a lot of really clever things - like trying to manipulate Reddit and other social platforms by using several "real" profiles ... but it would take a huge operation to influence rankings and maintain them for the more competitive keywords if they were to focus on CTR alone.

But for lucrative keywords that get just a few searches a day, this might be feasible. You wouldn't expect people who successfully do such things to reveal exactly what they are doing.
 
my CTR was very low,5%,now after one month that i use this tool that get ME click it is 40% in more country of the world
 
Is CTR a ranking faktor? NO! Can unusual boosts in CTR above a certain threshold lead to temporary ranking improvements? YES! It's like influencing Google suggest/instant, for really low volume terms it works, but the high effort isn't worth it, especially since everything goes back to normal as soon as you stop the manipulation.
