    for an adwords campaign, what's considered a healthy CTR - in order to maintain a good QS (assuming a healthy CTR is directly related to a good QS)?

    25% it seems is a magic number you can run a lot without getting slapped if you can maintain that ctr.

    I just ran a test campaign to try to get the best QS i can.

    I ran "nightclub"

    that name was first in the domain, title, header, ad title, ad subject. no ads on the page, and only content with 'nightclubs' as the subject.

    I spent a max. of 15/cents cpc.
    I had a total of 6 keywords.
    for the 6 keywords, each of the QS was 7/10

    and my total CTR was only 1.08%

    so this low CTR will only hurt my future ad campaigns?

    There is a qs history associated with your account over time. This can help you get cheap cpc right off the bat, but even if that isn't awesome you can continously lower your cpc on campaigns that are performing better as long as your qs is good for that individual campaign. 1% will still run if you pay whatever they deem for the minimum bid.

    Bastard of a system for us but from a business perspective adwords can't be serving up ads all day that never get clicked on. Buzz words on your copy that draw the user might improve ctr on the ad like:

    Exotic Nightclubs
    Hottest Nightclubs
    Wild Nightclubs
    Raw Nightclubs
    Legendary Nightclubs
