I need help from SEO community.

For the last three months, my blogs are getting high impressions—from 140,000 a month to 50,000 a week. However, the click through rate is abysmal. A few blogs with impressions over 1 lakhs have 0.2% ctr, while others with same impressions have 0.3% to 0.7% ctr.

I am not able to understand what's going on. We consistently rank on the first page for targetted keywords, beating IBM, Palo Alto, Crowdstrike, etc., and yet the ctr never crossed even 1 percentage point.

Could anyone with their experience and expertise tell me where I am going wrong as an Seo-content writer?

when there are lot of impression but vry few clicks, it clearly shows that something is definitely not right regarding the search intent/snippet in the SERP. the things that I am going to look at include GSC queries, titles/meta tag compared to the competitors' as well as AI overview/rich snippets that have click through.

you are right but it cant be that they are ranking but the clicks are little to the impression, , so my suggestion will be to check what you are ranking on for you to determine the next step maybe you will work on the content or having more action on your site

first check search intent and the actual SERP before changing the content If you’re ranking but getting very low CTR titles/snippets and the type of queries generating impressions are worth reviewing closely.

rewriting your title tags to be more specific and benefit driven rather than kw focused might help and check what SERP features are appearing for your top impression keywords.

Your own numbers already point somewhere the thread hasn't looked. CTR is a ratio, and you said impressions went from 140,000 a month to 50,000 a week, so the denominator grew by about half. New impressions almost always arrive on queries where you sit much further down, and those positions click at near zero by construction, so site-wide CTR can fall while actual clicks stay flat or rise. Look at clicks over time next to impressions before you touch a title.

The second thing is arithmetic. 0.2% on 100,000 impressions is about 200 clicks, and a real first-page average on commercial queries returns many times that. So either average position on your high-impression queries isn't what the site-wide number suggests, or those queries get answered on the results page itself. Both show up in one view, per query, with impressions, position and clicks read together.

Initially, I will look at CTR nd average position of queries through GSC. It is possible that there are many impresions from low-position queries or ai response in the SERP, which will lead to false CTR.
