css fluid + sidebar question

    heya

    More and more of my sites that I design are fluid with a fixed width sidebar. I now use 2 coloumns let's say 75% and 25% float left and right and looks decent. Hoever on high resolutions 1600+ where is plenty of space the sidebar is too large
    I remember is a way to set a width somethig like this:
    width: 100% - 250; ( where 250 is the size of sidebar width) so the left coloumn may use the rest of the space..
    Someone please post the right sintax

    100% fluid layouts don't look great at the highest resolutions becasue the line lengths just get too long - Here is a great "compromise" - it's fluid with a min / max that is very adaptable, maybe see if this will work for you:
