We are new to accepting cryptocurrency payments for legit service. When we receive a crypto payment, we want to make sure the sender and funds are reasonably safe before transferring them to our Kraken account.

We currently use Trust Wallet and receive USDC over the BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20). I checked the addresses using Blockchair, but it shows them as BNB addresses rather than separate USDC addresses. From what I understand, this may be normal because USDC on BNB Smart Chain is a BEP-20 token and uses the same BNB Smart Chain address.

We have used four different Trust Wallet addresses to receive payments from four different buyers. However, when checking them with Match Systems, all four show a risk score of around 50/100.

Can anyone with experience in crypto compliance advise on the following?

  1. How should we properly check the source of funds or sender's wallet before accepting a payment?
  2. Is a 50/100 risk score something we should be concerned about?
  3. How can we determine whether the received USDC is reasonably safe to transfer to Kraken?
  4. Could Kraken hold or restrict the funds/account because of the transaction history associated with the sender's wallet?
  5. What tools or checks should a small business use before accepting crypto payments?
  6. Why does a USDC transaction on BNB Smart Chain appear under a BNB address rather than having a separate USDC address?
We are simply accepting legitimate payments for services and want to understand the correct process before transferring the funds to a regulated exchange such as Kraken.

Why not just use a regulated gateway who handles the entire end-to-end lifecycle? Then it becomes crypto-to-fiat, you do the KYC once, they do the compliance.

Can you name any gateway?

Have a look at any crypto payment gateway with AML Checker. Many of them offer that kind of service.
Based on screenshot, do you see any issue with this wallet? AML seems okay but MatchSystems is 50/100 -why?

CoinGate, NowPayments, Cryptomus.
How are different than exchanges? Exchanges freeze the fund in many cases for example Binance is famous for such activities. How is it with gateways, can they handle all headaches or freeze transactions too? Also, do they allow exchange to Fiat like Eur, USD and transfer to bank account? Or what is your suggestion?

They payout on a regular interval like Stripe via fiat to a normal bank account. Never had a single issue with frozen transactions etc. Your worst case is you lose a few days of payouts e.g. if somehow they suspend your account, but unlike exchanges you are not keeping an ever-growing "balance" with them.

Exchanges are designed for trading mainly - futures, leverage, options, funding. Payment processors are designed to accept payments.

how accurate is their rating though? On what metrics are they giving you a score?

I personally wouldn’t worry too much about our, you can also use privacy focused coins like XMR as well.
