Crypto noob Speaking and speaking theoretically here - let’s say you have a cash account in country A and want to move it to Country B; Country of residence. Both could be said to be surveillance states…
what is the most tax efficient way to get your money from a bank account in Country A to Country B via crypto?

Monero transfers. They can be encrypted and noone can see them.

I have encountered that different countries have different attitudes towards cryptocurrency. In country B, you may be asked to pay tax. Country A may request KYC. Country C may have high withdrawal fees and also KYC. So sometimes just take dollars in cash with you.))

P2P Transfer --> to buy crypto (you can use Cryptomus for that, for example, I usually do that when I need p2p)
After getting your crypto move it to a cold wallet (or at least a hot wallet like metamask) and buy monero
transfer monero if needed

monero is king in this regard. learn how to use it and you will have no issues

Your best bet would indeed he to go through a P2P exchange and preferrably using a currency like XMR to make every move totally untraceable.

If you're trying to move money between two countries using crypto, here's what I'd suggest based on personal experience:

  1. Buy Crypto in Country A: Use a reliable exchange in Country A to convert your cash into crypto. Stick to something stable like USDT or USDC to avoid price fluctuations. Make sure to follow local rules (KYC, AML, etc.) so there’s no trouble down the line.
  2. Transfer to Your Wallet: Once you’ve got the crypto, transfer it to a secure wallet you control (e.g., a hardware wallet or a trusted app like Trust Wallet). This step isn’t taxable, as you’re just moving your own assets.
  3. Sell in Country B: Send the crypto to an exchange in Country B, convert it back to cash, and withdraw it to your local bank account. This is where taxes might come into play if you’ve gained value, so check the local tax laws.
Keep good records (timestamps, amounts, and conversion rates) to simplify tax reporting. And if the sums are big, consult a tax advisor familiar with crypto in both countries—it’s worth it to avoid surprises.

use P2P in country A to buy crypto, move to wallet, swap to monero, send to country B. Cash out carefully. Low trace, low tax if done right.
