A crypto platform says it has closed a $1.5 billion (€1.4 billion) gap in funds stolen by hackers earlier this week in what a research firm called the “largest crypto heist of all time”.

The Dubai-based crypto platform Bybit said on X an attacker gained control of the exchange’s Ethereum wallet on February 21 as they were doing a routine transfer from a “cold” offline wallet to a “hot” online one. Ethereum is a popular type of cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin price down: Crypto value plunges amid major market worries​

The value of bitcoin is falling dramatically amid major worries in the market.

Bitcoin’s value has dropped around 7 per cent over the last day, with much of that fall coming in the last hour.

Other crypto fell even more. Ethereum – the second largest digital currency – has lost 12.7 per cent of its value in the last 24 hours, and the market as a whole is down almost 8 per cent.

they already recovered all loses by liquidating long positions
 
had a similar nightmare when marketing an NFT project – big hack tanked sentiment overnight, conversions died instantly. took us two weeks and tons of guerrilla posting on Reddit/X to build trust back up, but eventually, we hit ATH on traffic again

Not a chance, Trump just called it "a really useful thing" in his speech today. It's going the opposite direction for now.
