Is it responsive? Suggest you create the responsive design as well.
Is it SEO Friendly? Nowadays people not only looking for design but also responsive and SEO friendly!

im not sure about the 3 buttons and the drop shadow effect, i think its too much, and maybe work out on the color scheme a bit.

Here's my suggestion to you:

Throw everything you know about PS, check out web galleries and theme stores. Look for best sellers, and remember the effects, images, layouts and other details they used. Re-create it, do it until you perfected it.

Train your eyes to those details everytime you look at something, not just web design.. A leaf maybe, wood, anything.

For every detail, try to recreate it. This is a major part in web design.

Finally, learn a lot of UI UX. This is a must! There are countless of UI UX articles, and you should read and digest every single one of them.

Do this in span of 3 months, then post your newly made design here. We will judge your progress.

You have the basic knowledge on Photoshop but you need to learn more about web design. Here are my comments on your work:
1. Your navigation menu is too much big, it?s almost the same size as the logo. You should make it smaller.
2. The width of the content is inconsistent.
3. You had the color of a flat design, but I think it?s too simple.
4. The social media icons are also too big.
There are many sites that are flat design, you should go browse some to get an idea. Thanks and goodluck!

Yeah the design is a bit intense on they eyes.
My approach is usually instead of re-inventing the wheel I just hit up ThemeForest and find designs I like.

Once I have a few designs bookmarked I go ahead and blend them into my own custom theme.
They have tons of design inspirations all sorted by category.
