So after much toil and sweat I have got my website up and running. It's a website design service and I need to know of any problems. I've already put it through a spell checker and gone over it countless times. It literally went online today

Now I need some bright sparks from BHW to have a look over it with some fresh eyes and give me

1. Areas for improvement
2. Errors
3. General thoughts and feelings about it.

oh sorry mods for putting a url but I think it is obvious I'm not spamming. The website went live today and I need some genuine advice

I liked it, pretty nice and clean. I expected an adsense site and I was surprised.
B.T.W. I have about 20 sites that I need done free with my adsense code...... (LoL)
 
really nice website .
The only thing i had to say , is that sliders images are not really related to design .
I would place some screenshots from portfolio at this emplacement
 
The design looks nice :)

Now its time for you to make the site convert visitors into sales and SEO the site properly.

I actually think it looks nice and clean, and I do think the slider images relate to the service.

Things which need improvement:

Get yourself a proofreader - you said you had re-read a number of times to make corrections, yet I still picked up a few errors. Sometimes, when proof-reading yourself, you reach a plateau of error-blindness, and you no longer see small errors.

I was unable to load from the Portfolio - it "could" be my connection, but it needs checking.

Thanks for the info, same for everyone and I am going to put in all your suggestions.

However, what do you mean by this? Do you have any tips to get some really good images, like particular underground websites?

Also Nossie, what SEo method would be the most cost effective?
 
The site design is clean and need. Perhaps the font size is a little bit smaller especially for those who use HD monitor.

And yes, "corporate" looking people shaking hands have absolutely nothing to do with what you're offering on your site. :rolleyes:
 
Page speed 55/100 according to page speed analyser for firebug the firefox addon.
Some simple fixes to get that up towards 80/100.

As JohnsonDaniel said still typos in the copy.

Cosmic Eden as mentioned in your portfolio doesn't exist.

Apart from those very minor points the template is clean, and it's a great start. Good luck.

edit: add a favicon too :-)

neat and nice .. I would suggest you to add up some colors at the bottom of the page :) somewhere so the site looks like a busy site .. also the fonts needs to be a bit bigger :)
 
clean looking site.. but not creative. it looks like a template. honestly it looks boring to me. also free designs? are you kidding? people that are looking for website do not mind paying money for it so charge them and don't cut yourself short. i also think you need to add some color to your design but again it is clean how it is and some people prefer it that way just not me.

thats just my honest opinion i think it need creativity but.. you know the company triad123? they have a plain boring site yet they make some mad killer sales so its really whatever works for you. you can check out my site im also web designer worldwebguys dot com
 
You have to add a privacy policy and a site map

You need a call to action on the front page (that's what you should be using that rotator for) I see the front page and there's nothing that *makes* me want to click in farther...

I also agree that the *free* service, if you are not getting at least a hosting client out of it, is just a mistake.

i thought it look very clean and i am actually doing something like this too
