Critique my seo plan, please!

Hey all,

I have been doing on site SEO for e-commerce business, and some (very little) link building for the site. Ranking fairly decent for the amount of work put into link building.

Here are the site stats so far..

Google pages indexed:923
Yahoo:88
Bing:42

Backlinks:
Google:says 0..
Yahoo:72

Site does a couple sales per say. Has close to 200 products.

Here is my plan...

Keyword Research
Research keywords for product categories/products
Create keyword targeting sheet with anchor text

Content
Write 1 article per day, submit to article sites, as well as have on website for customer support/help
Blog post: Post 1 product review per day on blog. Posted to hosted blog on main site as well as external blogs that link to main site, with keyword anchor text.

Backlinks
Social Bookmarks, bookmark all products to 1 bookmark site per week.
Forum profiles, create 20 per day.
Blog Comments, 20 per day.
Directories, 5 submitted per day
RSS Feed, use RSS bot to submit created profiles and comments. Is this necessary?
Press Release: Submit press release to sites, every other day.


Any suggestions, comments?

Sounds like a good plan, I would do the rss feeds as well. It will help get those profiles and such indexed. ( Backlinks dont work if they arent found )

If applicable, make some related videos and post on all of the video sites, maybe interviewing the main man or lady. Maybe have the description start with a link to the site - not sure if that will cause you trouble or not.

You could also try converting the video to audio only and submitting to any audio directories whatever, if you had the time.

A quick bit of advice, be sure to link to your internal product pages in your backlinking strategy. That is absolutely essential and will help your individual pages rank easier. Otherwise that's an OK strategy, I'd pick up the link building but that's just me.

Agreed. You should REALLY consider implementing some RSS-ing. It gives you more backlinks for one and secondly gets your backlinks indexed fast. RSS is ultimate - I love it!

If you're planning to do all that yourself, and do it manually, I think it's quite a good plan as a conservative and 'safe' way at approaching SEO.

I honestly don't think I could do all that myself, manually. But thats probably because I'm a lazy bastard! lol.

As you're approaching this whitehat, and even though others are correct in saying a backlink not indexed is close to worthless, I would NOT bother with the RSS thing. Not completely anyway. Letting G find them naturally is the whitehat way!

Maybe consider just RSS'ing a select few of the backlinks you create. IE. higher quality links from High-PR sources, authority sources, and content relevant sources. Up to you though...

Forgot to add: Bookmarking. Are you planning to book mark every product page to one bookmakring account/site per week? If so, I'd recommend against this. Bookmarking sites don't think much of commercial pages being bookmarked as it is, so bookmarking hundreds of these to a single account won't be appreciated by them and may result in your bm accounts being deleted.

For this I would advise something more on the blackhat side of things, and that's having multiple accounts on multiple bookmarking websites, and randomly spreading your bookmarking across all these accounts and sites. And, (what is basically the BMD method of bookmarking) mixxing things up by bookmarking other sites along with your own, thus burying your own pages within many others and reducing the risk of detection.

Yeah, it's blackhat. But who's gonna know...? I won't tell anyone.

G rarely ever show a FRACTION of the backlinks to a website.

What does Yah00 show for your backlinks?

Rather than waiting for your backlinks to appear, watch out for movement in the SERPs. This is a key indication that your links hav been picked up, even if the don't appear in the Google index.

Do you use proxies for your building profile backlinks? I have had problems with my IP address being blacklisted by many forums which has put me off this method. Unfortunate as I know it works well when done right.
