I need some money for uni so I'm starting up my own webdesign/coding service portfolio.

Just designed this today, quick mockup, what do you guys think, anything I should change/add?

Thanks :).

EDIT: To get the ball rolling, do you think I should do some special offers till I start getting orders in? I was thinking $50 per 1 page or something, or maybe buy 1 get 1 free

Cool i like it make a range of websites add to your portfolio and start contacting loca businesses if its all good and you know SEO drop them the site for free as long as they sign up to SEO contract with you.
And yes offers and discounts would be good but essentially you would have to drive traffic try putting some of your themes on themeforest and the like so you earn from there plus people who see yor theme may end up as traffic on your site

Free websites for the first 10 customers - as long as they buy hosting thru your hostgator affiliate link. :-)

By the way, the design is simply PERFECT!!!

Thanks for all the feedback :-).

Here's the finished version: http://i47.tinypic.com/jrvfhx.jpg

I'll probably get my posts up, get Junior VIP here and then do my discount/free webdesigns in the services section to start off with

Hey idealines, the design and the simplicity is really cool. My suggestion is why not reduce the top portion grey area. Don't you think that it is a little too big? Just a suggestion. Goodluck!

This looks very nice. How long did it take you? How long have you been learning Photoshop for? Where did you learn? Just wondering. Some great work!

About 4 years, taught myself photoshop and the coding languages :).

Nice work, I'd like to see what other styles you can do, post a few more up!

You could probably make some nice money by selling them on themeforest.net. ;)

You're off and running Droogie. I'd make the central image bigger and LinkContractor's suggestion to do them for free if they buy a year's hosting is classic. You get their money and pay for hosting at a fraction of what you charge them of course. Good fortune. :china:

This looks very professional and clean. You seem like a talented designer. I'll be sure to hit you up on my next project.

Bad ass design!

I may hit you up sometime in the near future...

Did you figure out your pricing plan for your start-up yet?

To be honest I'm not great on pricing, I find it's hard to price something that I actually enjoy doing haha.

The first few designs will probably be in the range of $30-$50

You can make some MFA (high adsense ctr, +1 prominently displayed), amazon review sites designs, even a nice squeeze page design. Those are in high demand nowadays.

Also, sorry for being hyperexact but pfft, you forgot the . after 'beautiful websites'.

For me it matters mostly the CTR (for rss, social buttons, newsletter etc.) and then secondly the design! Be sure your designs have decent to great page CTR! :-)

By the way, you're a very talented designer!
