Hey all! First of all I'd just like to thank the creators of these forums and all the incredible contributors for the information that they've shared. I respect your time and do not want to ask any idiotic questions that have been answered a million times before. I'm mostly just looking for feedback on my customer acquisition strategy for an online services business. I made the classic noob mistake of choosing a keyword with too much competition but in my defense my niche is insanely competitive and any keyword that I can come up with has already been claimed by competitors with thousands of backlinks and domains much older than mine. I've been using a free keyword inspector tool called learn2rank to evaluate the competition and I'm assuming that this is fairly accurate. Based on this and my lack of budget at this point in time, I'm not going to bother trying to rank at all and instead focus entirely on social media and attempt to get customers by posting good content and adding/following/commenting on pages of potential customers without spamming. My plan is to then use any money that comes in to either hire someone to take care of the seo/rankings and/ or do my own research and spend money on tools/products that could be helpful. What do you guys think about this strategy? Is it doomed to fail? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
