Creative ways to drive traffic

Decided to start a thread that could be helpful to new people trying to gain more traffic for their youtube channel or videos. I guess I only know some basic techniques to help a little bit. Maybe other will post more creative ways.

- Posting on craigslist offering some kind of service and then linking your youtube channel in the post.
- Reply to others comments on videos that are related to yours, increases that someone will see your reply and check out your channel.
- When posting videos to Twitter always choose a popular hashtag and ones with ReTweet bots.
- Sign up to any forum you can that allows signatures and then make a lot of posts ( non spammy ).

Decided to bump this up to those thinking about white hat methods of boosting views. Not obvious to (me) everyone.

Yes, Im one of the few users that actually read old posts and search before posting new. There is lots of useful information but it has to be weeded through for

a) dumb posts/questions (how do get ppl to my channel) and

b) outdated information (eg. uploading porn on YT)

Otherwise, there really needs to be a YT sticky with all the common questions that are being asked again and again.
