creating several fb fanpages

I am thinking about creating several facebook fan pages. Would that be a hassle to manage? Do I need to be concerned with posting updates and interacting with members and all? It would be easier to save that part for later when the total count of members would be high enough to start promoting stuff... and in the mean time, just leaving them to grow. What do you think?

I'm also curious to know about your facebook fanpage experiences? Do you have one or more fanpages? Any good strategies?

Actually, nevermind. Just found out that all popular generic pages are being "adopted" by facebook. And the creator looses the publishing rights. Guess I have to make a little bit more effort on the verifying part then.

But still, comments about experiences and strategies are still welcome.
