Creating Secondary Articles to Boost the Main Blog Post?

Wondering if you've tried writing smaller, secondary articles that give authority to the main article you're trying to rank for?

For example, you want to rank on a list, e.g. "100 Best Kitchen Appliances."

TO give authority to that, can you write 20-30 smaller articles about each individual kitchen appliance?

Just curious what your thoughts are?

Do you have any experience with this?

It's a valid approach, go for it if you have the skills to create several article to boost the main one

exactly, interlinking helps in better crawling and consequently better indexing and then ranking
 
Yes, your main or "anchor" articles should address your main topics and keywords, while the secondary or "satellite" content should act like sidebars to enhance the main articles by covering miscellaneous issues. Those satellites also provide a place to push the secondary long tail keywords.

it is all about internal linking , if the internal links between those articles and your main article are good , yes it will help alot , so focus on better internal linking

Is there such a thing as too much linking?
I have a big keyword with slightly above-average competition. I wrote as a Top 100 list. I'm thinking of doing a separate, mini article about all the 100 elements in the list. So far, I have about a half dozen

Yes this works as long as you link your pages.
 
You need to be careful not to cannibalize your main article. The sub-articles have to be unique enough so that google doesn't consider it canonical as well.

Their focus keyword has to be different than the original one.
 
Publishing new secondary articles with proper internal linking always helps boost the main blog posts. You can also consider building backlinks from relevant sites with a diversified anchor profile for more link juice and authority.
 
Writing smaller, detailed articles about individual topics and linking them to your main one is a great way to boost its authority and rankings. It helps drive niche traffic and makes your main article more relevant overall

Awesome! What would you say is more important in 2025, between backlinks and the internal links?
I can't really control the backlinks, but I can sure control the internal link process.

Both are important. The backlinks from quality relevant websites help improve the authority, trustworthiness, and rankings of your website. The internal links help users and search engine crawlers navigate your website easily.
