Creating on Solana with Metaplex, can it help with NFT?

Solana’s speed and low fees are great, but the real edge comes from having tools that make buildings feel seamless. That’s where Metaplex caught my attention.

I’ve been looking into it mainly for NFTs thinking of testing it out with something simple, maybe even using PENGU as a base just to see how smooth the minting process really is. It’s open-source, easy to navigate, and clearly built for more than just art drops tokens, gaming assets, and even DePIN and RWAs are all in play.

With over 881 million assets minted and nearly $10B in volume, the adoption speaks for itself. Has anyone’s used it for more custom or utility-driven projects worth it or better alternatives?

Yep, I’ve deployed collections for airdrops, to serve as a promotional tool. Metaplex is definitely a solid tool especially since deployment on Solana is slightly more complicated than on any EVM chains, which can be done through an easy to use IDE (Remix). Solana requires a bit more knowledge since everything is done through SCLIs.
