Creating my first website, help plz

I am finally planning to create my first website after years of playing around with cpa. After reading all the info in BHW, it seems like affilate or adsense sites are the best long term income stream options.

My dilemma now is how to structure my website. I like to travel, and I go to a particular city quite often, so I would like to start by writing about that. I know that traveling is probably a hard niche since it's so saturated but I feel like it's a good start for me as its something I enjoy and comfortable with.

Should I create the domain with the city name (like denvertraveling) or a general travel domain (like worldtraveling) so that I can include other cities as well?

My option is to go for city name domain (like denvertraveling). Because it has less competition and make your life easier while starting out. Once your site became famous, then start one globally.

Yeah man. Start with a super niche, low-comp domain, possibly even a domain. With anything it just takes time and hard work. Start putting out some great content and sharing to relevant denver forums, sites, blogs. Reach out to denver locals for guestposts etc.

Either niche or broad names are fine.

I personally like broader brandable type domains though.

Your content can always start in a narrow category niche.

You can then expand to others as the site grows.

Just some thoughts.
