First post so please be gentle with me:p

If I created 10 to 20 sites/blogsites all on there own .co.uk (my target audience) and all relating to my niche, all hosted with a separate provider, filled them with adverts to my websites (2 sites) and regularly added good content containing links to my site,
Would this have little benefit to my main site because the new sites would have low PR?

Thanks

Basically your wanting to make a little blog network..

Answer is yes, it would help your main websites.

yes, it can help, be careful to not register the domains on the same names

Are you trying to make our own network like mother website then child websites something like that?

yes it would help. Dont over do it other wise it will create footstep
what would overdoing it be?

I would do this alongside blog posting to the bigger sites,

the site is a property site, the are hosted on some of the big property portals, so there are a lot of links back to the site from the portals, how can google differentiate from these portal links?

if you create links in each post that directly goes to your main web site and if you 100s of posts with one blog and then another..it would be overdoing and google will know that these blogs are made to pass link value to your main site...

So I would suggest you to keep it minimal ...and dont give links in each post....make it more generic

I agree with this...

It's better to place a link on footer or in a page called useful links... or things like this and try to thing as separate website so build backlinks and do all the seo work as a regular website
