Hey, sorry if this is in the wrong section, I don't know where it should go.

Does anyone know of any tools that you could use to create apps? I was using gamesalad until I realised you need to pay $299/year to publish the app and I don't have that sort of cash. I don't mind coding, I don't know how but I can learn. I am really struggling to find many resources on doing this.

Search for [h=2]The iPhone System by Trey Smith[/h]good luck! : )

Every link I find on Google and on this forum is dead for The iphone system by Trey Smith lol

I found it... It is supposed to be a $2 000 thing. I'll re-upload later tonight for you kids.

I am pretty sure that Apple charges that fee a year to make sure that people dont just upload random apps. It is supposed to make sure that people only upload quality apps because no one wants to pay money to have a crappy app on the app store since no one would play it... Apple doesnt really understand that there are great developers that dont have the extra money to pay and have an app on app store. Hope that made sense... :D

Apple charges $99/year for their developers license. I would say that if this is a route you want to go and are willing to put in the time to learn to code start by learning objective-c, and as you pionted out, you need to have a mac to develop and test your newly developed apps on. I haven't ever looked into building apps on a PC, because I have a mac ;)

oh thanks for the heads up on the $99 charge from Apple... :D

There is a huge difference between Iphone and Android.

If you wanna code your own software for Iphone you need to pay license fees, those fees can climb up to $99 dollar a year.
But for Android you can start for free, the only thing you need is the android SDK and Java (not javascript) and you ready to go for free.
If you need more information on how to start programming on Android please shoot me a pm, my experience with the Android SDK is very high and professional.

The book by trey smith is pure trash. Dont bother with it.

I have experience with android apps using andromo. I have a membership (most of my stuff was made while it was a free service with 50/50 admob) and have made a few different types of low quality apps. I have made about 12 apps and monetize with adsense and bring in about 3-5 bucks a day its not bad ctr but mobile traffic is smart priced. I can help you out or build some stuff on some jv or maybe provide some sort of service to you. PM me if interested.
