Creating a website like "Texts from lastnight"??

Would creating a similar site be possible through wordpress? It basically features user posted comments/posts and then allows visotrs to up/down vote them (I know that's possible on WP)

also; are there any good plugins you guys know of that allow users to post a certain type of content (image, poll, etc)
