Hey Guys,

I will be starting a Journey where I create a true authority site.

This thread will contain:
My steps
Weekly or Monthly Traffic Updates (I will try to do weekly)
Weekly Back link and DA/PA updates ( I think DA/PA updates every month)
Earnings (I wont be focusing on until I get tons of traffic)

What is an Authority Site(In my opinion)
20 Million Pageviews/month (Required for premium adsense account)
10 000+ Pages
DA/PA above 60
PR- Irrelevant- PR is almost an outdated metric nowadays

Monetisation:
Adsense,CPA ads, etc
No CB or Amazon

Plan:
Get 10 000 articles- Estimated Cost $50k (Will be spread out over a LONG period of time)
Increase DA/PA
Increase Traffic
Focus on Overall Site SEO

Current Stats:
Site Age:9 Years
Site DA: 16
Site PA: 28
Site PR: 3
Branded Domain=Yes

Total Costs So Far:
Domain:$350
Hosting:$10
Articles:$100-20 to start
CDN-$10 or so I think (MaxCDN)

Total Around $470
Estimated Cost To Complete Project- $100k

Do you think that domain age has any impact?
I purchased a brand new domain with a great name for my niche (finance).

Thanks everyone for the inspiration.
Server up and bought theme. Going to start posting the content and setup the site structure.
Also going to setup the social networks soon.

Its critical that you focus on making the site as professional as possible.

Yes its CRITICAL to have an aged domain nowadays.

edit: just a thought, is it not better to have 1000 epic high quality articles that will get shared all over the internet than 10k cheap $5 articles?

I will be following this journey as I am trying to do the same type of thing. Authority sites are the big maker.

Good luck with your journey and I'm starting a new journey in creating authority sites too,this is where you can make money for a long term.
 
And I thought my client is crazy (when he ordered 500 articles in a single go :-P ) ..

Do you cover just one niche or is it a general article site.

If one niche, how do you choose it, i mean you got written 10000's of articles so it is pretty difficult to judge competition
for all these keywords, and then compare it to another niche.

Which theme you use, if you use wordpress? Of course if you cannot reveal the exact theme give us some recommendation.For example I am able to choose from this theme pack - http://mythemeshop.com/themes/
 
Looks Good, would love to keep an eye on this thread, but one of the stats you posted puzzled me, a 9 year old site with a DA/PA of 16/28 thats low for such an aged site, was that intentional to prove a point

Exactly what I was going to say.
great idea and I'm definitely going to follow.
but if you are buying articles for $5 then it's not really going to be an authority site.
