creating a travel blog. need suggestions

I been traveling a lot lately. Basically a travel photography freak and thinking of starting a travel blog
I'm going to write articles by myself and I'm gonna hire a freelancer to write articles for me.
he is going to spin content from other websites
No backlink strategy defined yet.
What do you think?
i ran similar sort of project back in 2010 and it was massive success in that time.
wanna ask suggestions, tips , comments, as SEO is different from 2010
I 'm gonna rely mostly on content. So just wanna have some words from all of you.
 
Advertise on BHW
If you are not a travel company posting travel offers maybe it should not be good, so maybe the best thigs you could write about would be traveling places people should visit around the world in different countries, photos with nice places to visit ect. and as for backlinks you should really add your links on places related to your content where people would be interested to visit your site.
 
Lots of photos, Videos and long written content about the places you visit in an attractive yet speedy blog design. That's what i have been seeing off late from a lot of the Instagram travel bloggers. Oh and get a Instagram- it's a must. Also instead of just talking about the touristy spots, people like it better if you also write about local places to eat etc. The conventional travel blog thing has been done to death.
 
A lot of photos + a lot of info about the destination. Get their attention. Then you can offer some travel agencies to post their articles in your website to get some money... Not really sure how you can monetize such a website :)
 
at first going to use Adsense
after i get decent traffic maybe some travel affiliate

or worldwidetravelblog.com ?
 
Run a FREE Instagram account with 1-2 pictures from each location, minimal-quality description. Run a second private instagram account where people pay $4/month for you to accept their follow and show 20-30 pictures from each location, plus a lot of details, any prices that you can think of of what stuff costs there, etc.
 
Yes. Take good care in your content. But it seems the most important 2 steps you should figure out is your social media marketing and backlink strategy.
Social media has become pretty big in the last 4 years. There is lots of great info about it on this forum.

I'm going to add to this. Make sure you are actually in the photos as well. If you appear in the pictures looking effervescent about life, it will let your visitors know that you are a real person with a real blog and not a travel agency looking to sucker people out of money.
 
As for your content you can create some kind of guides with useful information like where to stay, what to eat, where to buy gifts, etc.
