    Hello,

I am not sure if this is the correct place to post it, but since I would like to get a site on flippa that is why my post is here.

So essentially I love taking pictures with my DSLR at events like music festivals, political events, and sporting events. I have been wanting to start a "picture" blog for some while now.

Anyone here have advice on whether I could get any type of press credentials if I created a site/bought above mentioned site one flippa and update with these pictures?

    Thanks in advanced!

Welcome to the Site Flipping section!

I think what you're saying is that you'd like to start a photography blog/site and you're wondering whether you should build from scratch or buy a site on Flippa and start from there.

One of the things to consider is whether or not you can get started for less than the cost of the site you're looking to purchase. All you really need is a nice ThemeForest theme, domain name, hosting account, and a bit of experience setting up sites. That's not likely to cost you much in terms of $$, but it COULD take a considerable amount of time if you don't know what you're doing, you're picky, want custom stuff on the site, etc.

Another thing to consider is this - Any site picked up from Flippa or elsewhere is not going to be as customized to YOU. It may not have the exact brand name you'd prefer, may not have the layout you'd like, etc. If I were in your situation and considering purchasing, I'd want to make sure I understood what was adjustable and what wasn't before purchasing.

For me, I'd much rather start from scratch on this project and have full control of how I started it off, but I do see the benefit of having this done for you if you're new to all of this. Consider looking at a WP site creator that allows for personalization. There have to be others out there that can help you select your domain/brand, get your theme setup, etc. for under $1K. That way you still retain full control of your branding, getting the theme/layout you want/prefer, etc.

I really appreciate your comments and advice regarding my questions. As far as press passes/media credentials go, would you know if just having a site is enough or do you need past credits/a core of reports? Thanks again!

Just start a blog even just a tumblr, facebook, twitter, pinterest network would probably be perfectly acceptable to look like you are a social media corespondent combine that with a membership to the us press association for your Press ID and press credentials. It is really freekin easy to get a press pass people just don't take the time to do it as long as your not trying to get into the golden globes people are desperate for coverage.

How do I know this cause my ass is cheap and I don't want to spend money on event tickets lol.

Nickeberie, would you mind sending me a pm with perhaps the link to your site? I just want to get an idea of how elaborate the set up has to be. Thanks.
