Creating a second ebay account that easy?

Hey guys,
Ive read it a bit online and someone actually told me to create a second eBay account, one for personal use where I buy something and another one strictly for business / selling activities to keep things separately and clean (some sellers will give you as a buyer negative feedback for whatever that's why i was being told to get another one)

Is it possible to make a second eBay account under my name? I just got one eBay account and that I created about 2-3 years ago - how is the sign up process for ebay as a seller?

How will the verifications be? Can I use the same bank info or PayPal info? What do I need to keep in mind? Or should I sign up under another name???

Answer is short an clean.Yes you can create multiple ebay accounts as much you want.
Even china companies who sells lap tops,tablets ,mobile and so on have more than 3 active ebay accounts.
This is not secret at all.
I would suggest you to not use any similar data you use from first account even you need to have different IP when you logged.
This mean new identity or use your brother or sister or cousin identity and create multiple ebay accounts.
To repeat all ways use:
-different name and surname
-different adress
-different Pay Pals.Don't use aliases from google as [email protected] to [email protected] or similar.
-different IP use dedicated IP from providers as Hide my ass or similar(they are realiable and tested)
With this IP you must log on Ebay and Pay Pal.
-different phones (for this purpose you can use google voice also)
 
That means I can sign up under the same physical adresse where I live when I do it under my brothers name for instance? How will the verifications be? Will I get a code via mail to my physical adresse?

How am I going to do the PayPal thing? I think the problem there will be to create and verify another PayPal account..

I would want to create an account without my brohter knowing...


Or is it possible to go about it differently?
 
Generally eBay is okay with multiple accounts as long as you don't start selling same thing across multiple accounts. That is considered listing manipulation and will get you banned.

That means when I create multiple accounts under the same name + paypal as a seller but do not sell the same items on each acc, this is totally OK with them? Just wanna make sure and I somehow don't want to ask on the eBay forums

Dont even think to do this is advise from toml3030 you will be banned instantly.All accounts.

eBay SPECIFICALLY says in its policy that multiple accounts are allowed

Yes, but 1. You are not to use multiple accounts to get around eBay policy...i.e. trying to get around category limits by starting multiple accounts to list the same thing

2. All your accounts are linked so that if one goes down for any reason they will all go down.

3. Getting involved with shady stuff like shill bidding between your own accounts, like you were asking about in the other thread, will eventually get you banned.

My other question: What would happen if someone would get banned? I am planning to build a whole business around ebay and what - for whatever reason - I get banned? My traffic is completely based on ebay..What ways would I have to get my account back? How reliable are stealth accs?

If one account at an address gets banned, potentially every account at that address is at risk.

If you get banned for VERO violations, flagged for selling fakes, or seller performance, you can't get your account back.

My oldest is from 2009 and will sell about $80K this year. Never had a policy violation, never gets hassled by eBay or Paypal, gets about 1 neg a year. If you want a long term business, don't do any stupid stuff that puts your account at risk, like shill bidding. It takes like a year to get a stealth account to really mature, in my experience.

b) Create an account under one of my relative
c) Create a totally fake account (which I cant most probably) OR buy a stealth acc

How are the verification processes? What does ebay do to verifiy an account until I can sell something with it? Phone verification? Paypal verification?

B is not a good option imo because if you use a relative's info, that could potentially cause tax implications for the relative.

A is the best option, unless you're planning to do shady stuff.

C isn't that difficult to do if you follow the stealth rules and don't do anything stupid, until you hit the threshold where they have to report your activity to tax authorities.

basically to sell you will need two things; working phone number and working bank account. Also it is highly recommended that you have access to your eBay address of record. If you sell low risk items you will not need anything else until you hit the 200 item/ $20,000 paypal limit. If you sell vero or high risk items they may shut you down until you send in your ID and proof of purchase of your inventory.

You will also need a credit card of some sort.

All this advice is if you are running multiple accounts, selling fakes, manipulating the system, etc. You are allowed to have a buyers account and a sellers account under the same info. Like you said - you are not doing anything shady. eBay is totally fine with it. Call them up and ask, I guarantee that they will say it is fine. I have a lot of experience with eBay.
 
My experience with Ebay is far more terrible than yours and now i run constantly 3 ebays seller accounts and in last 4 years I dont have any problems yet,but I sell legit service and staff and have good feedback,maybe I don't make 1K per month but 100-200 $ also are fine.
I needed about 12 years fight with Ebay and Pay Pal to beat their system of verification and so on.
