Creating a online streaming website?

Hi,

I am trying to run a stream from my home, just wondering does anyone have any experience on how to get this setup? I am just going to try run cctv footage from my tv and want to get it on to a website.

Questions i got is:

- How can i get it from my TV to my pc?

- How can i get it on to the website, will there be a script i have to run or anything specific?

- What sort of hosting should i be looking at? Depending on views?

Sorry i know might be a bit of a newbie to this but i am looking into getting this running.

try to get that in a CD or DVD then u can get the stuff on computer.
once u get it on computer i can develop a website for u and put that in website.

other way is start your TV and recod same thing in computer using your webcam.

I dont know if I am missing something here ? But it is very simple..

All you need a TV card for your PC (in PCI/express slot) , then u connect your tv antenna cable to your new TV card's antenna in jack..(You should chose your TV card according to your antenna/source cable jack).For example RF in , S video in and so on..Or you can look for cheap adaptors according to your source , input jack..(scart to s-video)

By using a TV card, you dont need any more your home tv .Your TV is now in your PC screen.. And without quality lose..

Once u have your video source in PC , the rest is software things.Even you can broadcast these videos to over your msn messenger..I am not writing here so many script program makes that (broadcasting to web)..

Hosting is a big issue here, this kind of streaming video hosting , many host rejects it, you shoul specialyy ask them before buying your hosting..IRC servers, game servers , video and radio broadcasting servers all require special hosting ..

Yeah what i want to do is the video footage on my pc, i want to get this onto a plain website which i am designing before it has been uploaded. Then if i can see if it is working on the website, i can upload after i find the right hosting package.

Can i do this or will i have to get the hosting for this first before i can test it on my website? Also how can i get it on to the website from my pc currently?

Hosting is the last thing you should think .And yes very short time trials no body says anything .Try it with your current host , when you exceed your bandwith they will automatically stop serving your site , and send u a message about it..So it is no problem to try.

But hardware issue u should solve first, I dont know your country and US systems but , in europe every TV takes its channels with

1) Coaxial antenna cabel = RF cable
2) or over sattellite device
3) or satellite is integrated to tv so u have just a LNB input back of TV

4) from different source to --> TV :
4.1) S. video jack
4.2) scart
4.3) hdmi , wireless, dvi in new systems


So you should first know that what cable is it back of your TV? then a TV card + adaptor accordingly..

ohh man stop saying use webcam .. If you take that video over web cam your video resulotion and qualitly will be screwed up.You are putting an anolog environment betwwen two digital data, and many noise..Video source should be over cable transmitted.

What u are saying is like recording a hit music from your radio , bringing your handy near it and record to song to handy... or you can your radios line out and your computers line in connect with a cable and start recording from your computer..as digital without room noise/ intermediate env.
