I've always liked the idea of journey threads and wanted to start one a long long time ago. I'm going to start one quite soon but I don't know how to go about it. I've been thinking of creating a thread or creating a website but I'm not sure. I really like the idea of posting a thread on BHW simply due to the publicity and potential for interaction. But then again I want to aim big and want this to be something long term and as unlikely as it is for BHW to disappear any time soon who knows what will happen in 5 - 10 years time. A personal website would be great but then again I dunno, come to think of it, it's a bit of a privacy issue but then again I would be posting the same stuff in here... lol

Any advice?

Matthew Woodward started his journey in Aug 2012 and kept it within his blog and posted a link to his blog post in BHW and continued the discussions all within BHW. At the same time, he also promoted all type of IM related affiliate products through his blog posts and made some money too. His last months earnings hit almost $4k+ generated from his Blog. So I'd say have your own blog for your journey.

What stops you from doing both? Just copy paste from BHW to your blog!

I'd have to agree with smartman, having a journey thread provides motivation for yourself aswell as information for others.

A journey website however provides you with the perfect platform to promote a full range of IM products which will inevitably result in more $$$$ in the bank.

It's a no brainer really!

Good luck with it.

The thing is I'm not looking to promote any products at all, at least not in the near future. It would be more of a personal growth blog and the major thing that makes me want to create a site is the fact that I would be able to have a backup whereas with BHW, well it stays here for as long as BHW is up and running.

I was thinking of doing both but I don't want to be duplicating things. I will think about it and see.

I tried this for a bit, unless you have a specific focus or goal in mind it's like throwing a site up without keywords..

was my progress during web dev.

If you keep it focused and on point, great idea. Otherwise, waste of time/hosting.

Can't others then trace your blog back to the site you're discussing in the journey and potentially copy/neg seo? That's why I didn't.

Yeah It's a no brainer really!

Where can I donate so you can buy yourself some glasses, because clearly, you can't read the date of the thread.
