Creating A Celebrity Blog Need Advice thanks!

Hello bhw this will be my first post on this forum i have been a member for a while and i have decided that i will become active on this forum because i have been interested in blogging and internet marketing for a few years now i thought it would be a great place to start. so here is my situation i know my way around wordpress very well i know css and html and php javascript quite fluently and to get to the point i want to create a celebrity blog a legal one i dont want to rip images off google because that is illegal to post on a celebrity blog that is generating revenue i dont want to get sued that not why i want to create this blog i wanna do it to earn some money and enjoy doing and writing about what i know best yes there will be multiple writers for the blog i have that covered but i just need to know where to get legal photos to post on the blog also im on a budget so if you know any cheap places that are high quality i would highly appericate the support I will make sure to update the thread to tell you how things are going i am fairly well at seo so i dont think traffic will be a problem if anyone could give me further advice or other awarness in creating this blog i would really appericate it thanks in advance!

If I were to write a celebrity blog, I'd rewrite from all the sources that get them as soon as they happen. I can think of about ten off the top of my head. As far as pictures, unless you want to pay money, I'd suggest google.

Yes i am willing to pay money thanks for the advice do you know of any places where i could buy celebrity photos?

Unless you're doing this as a hobby, I'd avoid the celebrity niche. Too competitive, and I'd think there isn't a lot of money in it unless your site grows HUGE (like TMZ).

Not really. Some do them themselves. I know star magazine pays at least $50 per photo. I'd rather just google the same exact photo and rename the file. That's just me though.

That's a great question and one I never found the answer to! I have a killer domain that has just been sitting around for 2 years because I couldn't figure out how to get the necessary pics.

As someone said if you want to stay this side of the law and with celebs who have the money to take you down, it's going to be expensive I would've thought.

If someone else has the answer it would be good to know.

I know of one site i believe its 250$ a month for 500pics something like that which is pricey but i was just seeing if anyone had any other sites they knew of it would be illegal to post copyrighted images from google though right?

You can purchase photo from here: http://www.istockphoto.com
But purchasing celebrity photo is not good idea if they are available for free. There is number of celebrity blogs and all most all using Google and other search engine for celebrity photos. You can give reference to original sites or blogs from where you takes images to publish in your site.

is the site its perfect but a bit pricy google pr photos perfect site but pricy

Try Wireimage. Also there is site out there that you can use celeb pics, but they have ads on them. You get affiliate money from them... the name escapes me right now. I will see if I can find it later.

Hey Mvtron,

I run a celebrity gossip site. Currently it's my biggest traffic source but not my biggest earner. As Marusia stated I stay close to several sources and try to keep on top of the latest. I also look at Alexa Hot items and Google trends. I then say to myself if I was only going to read about 6 Celebrity stories which ones would I pick.

So far about 6 posts about 250 words (minimum) work perfect. I usually get about 4 quality posts per day and some that are just pictures. Somedays I can squeak out six. I've done up to 8 but haven't seen a difference in traffic. I suspect if you can get to 11 or 12 like Gossip Cop you would be Golden.

I got 100,000 impressions last month compared to only 200 in Feb of this year so the site is growing. My Alexa number is below 700K and dropping. I have not paid for one picture to date and no one has contacted me to remove any either. If they did then I would. I just use Google images and click and save as.

Monetizing is really tough. Not as easy as you would think because it's largely untargeted. If you have a story about a star on drugs, your adsense ads will be about drug addiction and rehab. If you have a story about Jay Z traveling to Paris, then you will have travel ads. So you won't get clicks. Sometime the ads are right on the money. It's a hit or miss.

My advice:
1. Post Often
2. Stay On top of things
3. Experiment with AD placement (This is HUGE!!)
4. Experiment with various CPA offers.
5. Capture names for a news letter - and put a Commision Junction coupon at the bottom of each newsletter you send out. (Macy's, Sephora, Best Buy)

Also - sign up for bloggers, linkrefferall, netlog, and blogcatalog.....and also get a beginner package from onlywire.com that will shoot out and social bookmark each post.

Oh yeah- don't forget a fan page and twitter as well. Those are all back links to your blog in space.

if you want pics there are free sites to get them forum-phun-org or superiorpics

there are so many super funded websites, TMZ, and the such that are leaked the news stories and do not do any work. The rest of the sites or 2nd tier and just repost the same crap. How many ways can they say Lindsay went to the Jay Z concert.

I agree with bigg & pluto, I ran a popular celebrity/gossip niche site that pulled a good amount of traffic (about 3k-5k UVs per day) and never made much money from it. I tried monetizing with Ad.sense and CPA offers with no real success. I suggest you hunt for a better niche unless you have better plans to convert your traffic.

PS: Majority of my traffic came from G oo gle News, I posted 1-3 times a day and ranked for some pretty good keywords there.. but like I said never made enough money to make it worth my time.

instead of ripping fotos off google, better visit their official pages or spend a whole day out wd ur fav celebrity and fotograph em, unique and pure and u asked for advice here you go; choose jonny depp

My advice : Adsense pays shit on such blogs, had a huge celeb blog, cpc was fking low.

Go for CPA to monetize it

Definitely keep an eye on Google and see what celebs are getting the most searches that week and then post on them. It changes so fast.

And yes, the celebs may not care unless you have a really big site but it is illegal to repost copywrite protected images.
