ArcticPanda's Journey to Creating a Successful Branding and Marketing Business Right, I'll get straight to it! I doubt any of you know, but my current 'main occupation' is my Online Marketing Consultation company, which is doing reasonably well as of the current moment in time. I have been steadily (very steadily! #TortoiseStyle) growing it over the years. However, I've found that I've been adding too many elements to the business. I feel as though it is getting to the stage where the company offers too many services, and that I should be focusing on a specific set of services and open up another company for others. So, that's where my new company comes in. The niche: Branding. Essentially the focus is to create branding products for other businesses. However, the main focus from start up is video production. I will be trying to contact businesses and explaining the usefulness of video, and how it's grown so much in recent years, blah blah, I'm sure as budding IMers you all know the power of video. However, many businesses don't, and if they do, they often have absolutely dreadful videos. So I'll be using a video creation tool (might share this if requested), which literally makes the process ridiculously simple. A basic drag and drop of images and clips, add a sound file, add the company logo, and presto, you've got yourself a ridiculously professional looking sales video. In addition to this I'll be offering cross-sells such as voice narration over the video. My Pricing So, while I'm based in the UK I'm going to do everything in dollars, as I feel I'm limiting myself if I eliminate the US market. The pricing for a basic video production will be $199. At first I thought this was a bit high considering how easy the process is for me, however, I'm never going to make a successful business out of offering $50 services. My 1 Year Target My target in the first 12 months is to get one sale a day. So, my aim is $200 per day minimum. Fingers crossed I'll be getting plenty of up-sells to my other services as well. Affiliates I'm hoping to take advantage of affiliate marketing on this project. I feel as though my target is pretty much impossible to hit in a year by myself (I have a few team-members too). So I decided to implement an affiliate system into my website which I'm still researching how to take full advantage of. I'll possibly try and start an email list and gain affiliates that way. I must admit, I'm a bit of a stranger to obtaining affiliates. I've been one, I've never had to obtain them though. However, that's the whole point of this thread, it's here so you can learn along the way with me! What's been done so far So, the website is up and almost completed. I've implemented a checkout system, so people can literally choose the product they're interested in, and pay via PayPal. I feel as though this is a mistake I originally made with my first company. I'd have my prices listed in attractive pricing tables, but the action button would literally just be a "contact me" button. I feel if the process is literally a case of "do it...NOW" then I am less likely to lose as many leads. I've started a FB page, not that I have much faith in it. I don't feel as though Facebook pages for businesses help unless the business is significantly large enough for it to actually have some reasonable traffic. I've implemented the affiliate system. However, I still need to design an affiliate 'sales page'. IE - A page where people will hopefully be convinced that they should become an affiliate. My affiliates will be earning 20% on each sale at first, which I feel is reasonable. 7878 Method I'm hoping to do an adaption of the 7878 method which was originally set up for Online Reputation Management. However I'm sure I can put a spin on it. I'm about to order 100 stamps, 100 envelopes and print out 100 letterheads. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed this method works, as the last thing I want it to rely entirely on SEO like I have with my previous business. I'll add more to the story soon! Got to dash!
