Iam developing a solution which allows you to create your own niche search engines.

You will be able to create search engines like -

1. bixee.com/Indeed.com - Job Search engine

2. Filestube.com - File Search Engine

Or any niche you are interested in. Google just loves these vertical/niche search engines and indexes thousands of pages on them on daily basis.

Just search for a job related query on google and you will find pages from Indeed on top 10 results.

Ways you can make money from your search engine -
1. Adsense
2. Related Affiliate products(Remember , people are on a search mode when they come to your site.)
3. Value Added Services (Provide some sort of automated service and charge a fee for that)

This list can go huge...

Now the reason of this post to ask fellow BHW members about a pricing I should charge for this and what features you would like.

A sample search engine on my technology is ready here-

Its a file search engine like filestube , the same technology can be re-used for any niche.

I welcome your suggestions on features and pricing.

Can't brainstorm feature ideas, but the pricing has to be at least FREE!

(Feel free to add paid addons) :)

EDIT: Seems like the sample search engine has just indexed 10-20 pages full of adult.!!

The pricing cant be free, since I have been programming it for past 4 months. It has several modules
1. Crawler Module.
2. Indexing Module
3. Search Interface

The product can scale to multiple servers and Iam also planning a cloud based billing model like 80legs for it.

i want to ask

1. can he search and get resultes from any site ?
2. can you make it clone to filestube in the download links and every thing
3. can you make it more seo ?
4. can this script support arabic ?
5. how much ?

I have thought of providing 2 options here -
1. You can have your own VPS/Dedi Server, where I will install the crawler and indexer. This machine can be a linux VPS with 50$ a month price tag. You will need to add more servers as your search engine gets popular and starts getting lot of traffic.

2. I will be hosting the crawlers and indexers by self on Amazon cloud and shall bill people on a pay per use model.

Sure guys, its mostly done and Iam looking for beta testers, those with linux VPS's and a spare domain for your niche search engine can contact me for a beta test run, you can keep the license of the software for first year free as a beta testing gift from me :)

Count me for beta tester. I tried visiting sample search engine in your first post but it all give **** result
