i told u at the start of the thread, it isnt an account creation tool but a catchall tol. its useful for posting and not sending emails !!

Definitly true, but I'd not rely too much on it for giants like Craigslist.

Most likely it works for a time but sooner or later they will find out that all mail addys on gmail that only differ by dots are the same mailbox.
 
I heard this method does not work. But I never tried it though.
 
although this technique may not work for all sites it is still a very useful piece of information to have in your arsenal.

Dang it, I had a nice post but I couldn't ever get it to submit because I'm a forum newbie.

The short story is that the period trick is ancient news and adding a + into the first part of your email (before the at sign) also works.

Wow, I totally missed how old the thread is, lol.

Both the . and + work as additions to the gmail address (I just tested), but whether or not they're accepted depends on the site of course. =)
 
I did not understand this :

You can use these extras for whatever. Guidelines that I found out the hard way were:

email with 6-30 characters
email with at least one letter
emails forwards to email without the dot.

6char=32
7char=64
8char=128
9char=256
10char=512
11char=1024
