Create many service websites are just one?

Hi guys,

let's say someone is offering WordPress services, e.g. load optimization, backups, transfer to new host etc.

Would it then be smarter to have one website that offers all these services

or

Would it better to have 4-5 websites that are more targeted and just offer one thing, e.g. speedupwp.com only offers load optimization, wpbackups.com offers only the backup service etc.

Looking forward to your suggestions.

One website offering all these services because then it'll be easier to sell your services as a package.

Thanks, that's a good point. Maybe we can create a list of pro and contra. I think this would not only useful for me but for others as well.

One general service website

Pro

- Easier to sell services as a package
- Less costs
- Easier to administrate

Contra
- Could give the impression to be an expert in too many fields

Several highly-targeted service websites

Pro
- Customer views the company as highly-specialized experts for exactly what the customers wants
- More powerful branding possible, e.g. "THE WordPress load optimization company vs. WordPress services by experts"
- Potential advantage over competition through the two points above, as most businesses use the "one website" strategy

Contra
- Higher costs (domains, designs etc.)
- More time-consuming administration

Any other ideas than oFuel's and mine?

How about do both? Maybe see which one you like more and keep the site(s) you think works better for you.

It's the same service anyway and you seem willing to put in the time to work on it.

what happened to the sites you mentioned? I couldnt find them.....
