is this a good money making idea?

I noticed majority (yes, believe it or not, majority) of people who are running ads have terrible landing pages. their landing pages look retarded. Even for high value keywords, people that are spending thousands of dollars a month on ppc, have landing pages that look like shit.

have you ever tried emailing such people and offering them to create a better landing page for a couple of grand? what was your response rate? any creative twists to this method?

Interesting. I am thinking about this aswell. It might be a great idea. Some marketing services selling would work too. Following this up closely:)

A lot of times ugly landers are there for a good reason, which is better roas. Especially with money keywords.

Not saying your biz idea won't work - it probably would at some level. Just something to consider.

I am assuming by roas you mean return on ad spend
in other words, conversion
by ugly, I was referring to the same thing, conversion
the landing pages are so horribly designed that i am sure when someone lands on there, he will click back.

And you are aware that many of these "retarded looking landing pages" have higher conversion rate than a slick/fresh design, right?

If you can provide higher Conversion Rate, sure, go for it.

Also, I'm 95% sure guys running those ugly landing pages has already split tested it with tons of different designs. If "tons of people leave because it's ugly" they probably wouldn't have a positive ROI.

Ok, seems you already have it all worked out. Good for you.

Depends on how you price it, could be a good way to go. I took over a biz a few months ago and the OG landing page was horrible ... spent so much time researching what it should look like and redesigning it --- would have loved to have outsourced it to an "expert"

Most bad looking landing pages convert better than very modern and full of whistles ones, specially on niches where the audience is more mature.

When you talk from a designer point of view yeah you will click back. But those landers are made to be for regular people, mostly of them 30-40 years plus, so think twice, why someone who invest 10k into a campaign using bad looking landers?
Yeah cause there is ROI.
