Create an ebook and selling it on clickbank

I would like to create an e-book on a certain niche and sell it on clickbank.
Could someone share his own experience and give some tips?
Affiliates only promote product with certain gravity, but you need to make sales to have this gravity... so its a kind of a paradox...
How to choose a subject that is not too competitive but still can make sales.

Definitely believe that you should give your ebook away for free. Put affiliate links inside of it and you'll make good money

"Create a product > Publish on Clickbank > Get sales" hasn't been how it works for a very, very long time and the vast majority of CB products don't get a single sale.

Whilst I'm no CB expert and haven't launched any info-products for several years, generally speaking the universal rule applies that you need to find/have a (strong) external source for sales before you can even think about having decent affiliates find your product via the CB marketplace.

Most people achieve it either through having built their own list, JV-ing with others in their industry and having them blast your product to their list, actively recruiting affiliates / JV partners from other sources or a combination of the three.

I'm assuming that you have no mailing list of your own, nor any contacts to write home about. In this case your best bet is probably doing a ton of 'gorilla marketing' to establish relations with existing successful affiliates, with the aim of having them send your product out to their lists. That said, with ebooks and the like you're facing extreme competition so not only does your product have to be strong, but more importantly your sales pitch (and therefore conversions) have to be very good in order to trigger any interest from serious affiliates.

How do I contact affiliates, and how do I convince them to sell my product, assuming that my product is really strong and valuable?
What do you think about selling the same e-book on amazon?
What do you think about the suggestion someone made to give away the e-book for free and put affiliate links inside?
