Create 1 Authority or multiple Niche websites ?

I already have a deals website in which I have articles related to product reviews and some informational articles. I have now identified a few niches I would like to write about. A bit confused on whether to create a section/category in the existing website itself and write about those or to create specific niche websites for the new ones.

Suggestions, please.

create a section/category in the existing website - YES
 
I like to spread the risk a bit and have several sites in different niches.
An idea could be one authority and some smaller niche sites for diversity.
 
If it's topically relevant to the previous website then create a section/category. If not going with a separate niche website will be a good option.
 
Why don't you build an authority site under one niche?

Building many niche sites take more money and time.
