When i was searching for something similar the worst contact form plugin was contact form 7 so if you want to install one don't choose it. Now i just write something " send a message to this [email protected] if you need assistance" that's it

It's possible to have contact forms without plug-ins, but as a newbie stick with the plug-ins, too much messing with code otherwise. Pick any free plugin, one that looks easy enough to handle for you and that's it. Later on, you can change it if needed.

If your website is a simple static website, one simple way is to code a script in Google App Script, with a Gmail account for the contact form, and deploy as a webapp.But it does require coding, so if you don't wanna dive on that, stick with the plugins.

A negligible amount. Although some contact forms aren't as lightweight as CF7, some are bloated enough to make a difference.

What about WPForms regarding speed or slowing down wordpress site?

Wow such creative much wow. Disable a plugin that loads css file worth 300kb and load a whole website inside a website. Wow.
