Hello Internet,

Since in the past months I learned some JS and React will start a journey of making money from this.
I think the hardest part is to gain some reputation into the Freelancing world so first 2 months I will not focus on earning and work (almost) for free just to build my accounts into the most popular platforms for Freelancers.
Today will create accounts into most popular ones and start to look for projects - anything related to Web Dev.
Is not mandatory to take 2 months for building them but I think will be like that because I have no portfolio where my clients can see my work.
Another concern is that I have no designer to work with and will ask my clients to bring design from a designer by themselves.
I will consider monetization started from mid Aug or Sep depends of how fast my accounts will grow.
Will keep this journey updated at least once a week.
This journey will be considered successful after I'll earn at least $9k in a period of 1-2-3 consecutive month(s).
I think this is more than doable until end of December.

Let's have fun,
andiz

Good luck with the journey.

I can give you some suggestions on how to get around on freelancing portals, you can reach out to me on my telegram @luckyIsOnTelegram

Awesome Journey! as a US based developer I have been curious of the availability of jobs on these platforms.
I have tried code mentor and arc before (no luck getting gigs) but havent really hit the popular ones yet like Upwork.
curious other more about our journey! check in with us! let us know when you get your first contract.

I've done a lot of freelance over the last two decades. Doing cheap/free work is not the answer.

Cheap work brings terrible clients.

Most freelance platforms show your last projects, and if future customers see you did work for cheap, they won't see you in a good light.

Most freelance business comes from return customers (and referrals). If you do it cheap once, they'll be reluctant to pay what you deserve in the future.

The best way to spend your first two months is building a portfolio. You need something to show, and in the end, you will make more money than doing a few cheap projects. (Not to mention, you'll gain true experience that will make you a better developer.)

Building a custom-tailored portfolio will allow you to showcase your best skills, leading to better prospects and chance of success.

Good luck!
