Crazy traffic from one post

So I woke up today and saw a spike in traffic to my website, 3000 visit in total from a single post in Facebook group.

I learned a great lesson: when you want people to engage with your content, you simply need to make a statement.

Don't blow sunshine up their ass, it's outdated, post something that's a little bit offensive, they can't resist to drop a comment, the more comments your post have the higher ranking it would be in group member's newsfeed.

I tried to spam before and it was dumb, focus on 1-2 big groups and it will bring great result :)

Quality over quantity as they say, though in this case because you focused on quality you ended up getting more quantity! Funny how things work out.
Unfortunately, that spike will die down as people coming from Facebook seldom return to an external site unless you give them a way to join your own Facebook group! Similarly to how an email list works, if you get them in your group you can get onto their wall consistently!

Dude, I figured the same thing out. You still have to be careful with offending people because they will report your pages and profiles or get you kicked out of the group. Once they start engaging you have to engage as well right away. Somehow when you engage right away it shows the post to more group members then they start flooding you with comments. Keep engaging and the clicks will keep on coming. I mastered this. Right now my site is getting at least 1000 visitors a day just from social media traffic on days that i don't even work. When I do work the numbers are higher.

Exactly. What i find though is that political groups that are negative work for themselves but you still have to engage with the commenters. Like for example, groups that are created around hate for Trump only need you to share a link or video of something bashing him that's new and boom it will go viral. So easy. Politics is the easiest way to make money because it's just like religion....everybody has a side and opinion they're passionate about.

First I really hate the troll, but I realized their post always landed on my newsfeed due to people foaming in the comment, so it gave me the idea :D
 
mostly you can't reduce a 1 time result like this. so your conclusion from only 1 post which worked is risky ;)

Well it depends, my group has a lot of aggressive bashing post but admin takes no action, like they just made the group to get traffic then forget about it or smth

I didn't take notice to that but I just was searching and searching for a way to get more engagement and the only thing I could think of was to get people pissed off lol and boom it worked. Trolling matters!

I do the exact same thing everyday. It's a method to it. Yes the admin can kick you from the group but that shouldn't stop you. Yes you can be reported and blocked depending on your post but that shouldn't stop you. Almost all of my post go super viral because of this method.
 
You making bank from those visitors? Good job nonetheless. I agree with quality over quantity. Especially for the long term success, quality is what you want to be aiming for.
