Hi!
2 days ago i changed my domain IP to link to my hostwinds account. But now the problem is: Sometimes my domain redirects to an older IP (associated to hostgator) and other's times my domain redirects to the right one (hostwinds).
My registrar is godaddy btw.
I'm a bit frustrating, i don't know what is happening. :(

Thanks!

When did you updated the Name Server? It can take upto 24 hours for the Name Server to get updated across the globe.

Well, the last update was today, because hostwinds is changing the nameservers. But, is this normal, the domain poiting to different IP's randomly (even with nameservers changed today)?

Happened to me once...

I called GD and they told me that sometimes it may take 72 hours for the DNS to propagate fully. During this time, it be sometimes point to your old hosting and sometimes to the new one.
Just wait a day or so and it would be fine.

Now i'm more relaxed! :baby09:

Did you use a custom nameserver? I have had problems with dns zones when using same custom nameserver on a new ip address. Solution was to get them to delete the old zone (on old ip), apparently sometimes they dont.

What you mean with costum nameserver? The nameservs are the nameservers from hostwinds (ns1.hostwindns.com i think)
And how i can delete the old zone?
Thanks!

Since you are not using any custom dns then it maybe that Hostwinds changed their name server IPs which is why your site is pointing to different IPs. Give it a day or two to settle down.

It can take a couple of days for the DNS to fully propogate, give it a little time and I'm sure it will be fine. If you e-mail support they'll most likely tell you the same thing.

I will wait and post how it's going, this can help others having the same problems.

Now looks that is all ok, thanks who helped me in the thread! ;)

It could be your isp cache, you have to wait 24 hours till the nameservers are properly propagated
