I have a web hosting business as some of you know. I require that all domain names be on my Godaddy account, so I don't have to login to customer's account and deal with all the he-said-she-said shit.

One of my customers transfered two of his domain names to me. Now, not even ten minutes later, he wants them back. However, Godaddy's says that he must wait two months before I can transfer them to his registrar. He is annoying the hell out of me. What do I do with him?

Tell him to take it up with GoDaddy. It isn't your rules, its theirs.

I told him. He just won't drop it.

Well, I suppose you could try to get GoDaddy to talk directly to him, and let them fight it out. Your hands are tied. There really isn't much you can do at this point, if you already explained your position to this knucklehead.

I guess I just need to stop being a push over and block him.

Well, it does appear that you tried to help the guy, so maybe blocking him will force him to take it to GoDaddy, since he doesn't seem to want to do that now. In reality, when you told him it was their rules, he should have went to them, and left you out of it.

Good luck with it. I wish i could give you better options. Unfortunately, I just don't know what else you can do at this point.

Has this been a learning experience for you too? Did you know that GoDaddy would require him to wait two months?

I think I would also be a bit fed up if I hadn't been warned before that this might happen, so is there no way that you can hand it back to him so that he can change password and so on and feel in full control until he gets it properly back in two months?

and for the future maybe set out some sort of terms and conditions so that it is up to people to read and know.

Simple: ignore him.

He cannot do anything.

Well, if he were my customer I would write and call GoDaddy and appreciating that they have that 2-month stipulation in their TOS - ask them (most respectfully of course) if there is any circumstance; any circumstance at all where they would waive this requirement - just this once.

In my experience all problems of this kind are usually related to some kind of powertrip mentality, so if you can calmly and politely make your point; duly tugging your forelock when necessary but passively aggressively selling your point of view, I am confident that using a different approach will have the desired affect.

Put it this way, if you were by chance say a celebrity (VIP or a VVIP) and got talking to a GoDaddy rep and had a similar problem, believe me; there isn't anything that representative wouldn't do for you - and on the spot!

Unfortunately it's a fact of life that some customers are a pain; however saying that, if you can win the day here and impress said customer, not only will you retain him but not knowing who he knows, this opportunity could bring you a nice load of referrals.

FWIW then, that's been my experience with difficult customers. :)

Lol - sb must be total crazy to give his domains to your control.

You can have serious problems. You give some service and you're responsible what is happening with this domains. If I would be in such a situation I would sue you.

This client isn't obliged to talk with Godaddy. If you have in your TOS that he can resign for ex. 14 days, so now it's time for you to start worry. I think that godaddy wouldn't do anything because they're too big company to make some special gifts for you.

The best think you can do is to give this cutomer full service for 2 months and hope that he wouoldn't go to court.

You should write in your TOS that if someone transfers a domain to you, it can't be transferred back sooner then 2 months, so you won't have such problem in future.

i say u scare the hell outta him, u told him once... should be enough.... get creative dont get walked on
