Well, I think it's obvious if you pay attention to trends in politics, but just looking at a specific symptom like e-commerce.

Anyone notice how places like Amazon have become pretty horrible nowadays? Apart from commission rates being slashed to as low as 1%, even on a consumer level you can see decline.

Barely any items seem to be sold from and by Amazon, but rather this endless wave of (what I imagine to be millennial) e-sellers. Cheap China crap from Alibaba overflow at these retailers, sold at massive, extortion level margins, like 10-20x cost.

A lot of the major retailers are doing this besides Amazon, such as BestBuy, Walmart, etc.

Across the board, I'm also noticing companies seem to be monetizing in what seems like a last ditch effort to scrape the barrel, like how every company seems to be selling "merch" nowadays.

I don't think this is going to improve. If you know where we're headed, I can't see it changing.

Places like Walmart are not even recognizeable online anymore. It's a bunch of dollar store, Chinese items at prices higher than brand name.

My shopping ended in Oct 2021. Decided to stop buying anything from amazon.in and never finds anything worth purchasing from malls.
