I have an idea to use with craigslist. I posted my ad and have received tons of replies. Having never done anything with CL before, I'm wondering the best way to email all these people now.
Is there any bulk mail prog you'd suggest?
I used a bogus yahoo address to get them to reply to my ad. Would it be unwise to reply to their emails from that account.

its nice too see everybody helping each other, yannoo cackleberry promoting boodeezy, cool. and to answers your post loclhero i have a software here, search for it called craigslist genius

i do some CL posting and have found that as long as the email name looks real then people dont even ask and with yahoo you can set up vaction mode and it cuts your work in half

Good Post. Just dont let them get your IP.

CL has been making me so mad. I posted a local ad for bulk pheromones with "Sex Panther by Odeon (made with bits of real panther)" in the title, obviously a joke.. Flagged over and over.. Some people have no sense of humor.

How do you get CL'ers to pay for your product or service? Do you use paypal or are you posting cloaked clickbank or other affiliate products?

It looks like your not asking about how to get people on CL to respond, but you are asking what is the best way to deal with them after they have responded - is that right?

The Yahoo address is OK for an auto reply to them but if you want to keep communicating with them you need more..

You have two options..
use a service like aweber - it's a subscription service that gives you the tools to manage lists and communicate with the people on the list.

Or buy the autoresponder software and eliminate the monthly fee..

if you go the software route you will have to rent hosting space $5 -$10 a month.

aweber starts at around $15 per month and provides everything you need.

I use software.. bizpacks and another app called maxprog - both are good and are less than $60 one time fee.

Unless you are good at, and have time for, the tech part go with aweber.

BuzzKill - I couldn't help but laugh my a$$ off! How that CL ad doesn't find its way to 'best of Craigslist' is beyond me. -e-

I have heard of some software called ezadresponder that you can setup to check gmail or other pop services. It will save email addresses for you email to them later. Probably only good for a one time email though. However, the software will track how many times you have emailed the user so you don't have to worry about emailing someone more than once.

I have downloaded and tried several programs. Nothing comes closer to Gammadyne Mailer. But there are two problems:
1. It is VERY expensive.
2. It is NOT user friendly.
If you know how to write scripts or have some knowledge in C, you will need no tools other than this one.

ezadresponder is good for more than just a one time email. it can do that, too, of course, but its main strength is its filters and templates. and as already mentioned it can keep track of who youve sent mail to so you dont send to that person again. which is a GOOD thing. ive been experimenting lately and i think i now believe that craigslist has spys that reply to ads to see what kind of response they get, and if it is a response they dont like, they flag the ad. with this feature, this particular spy may flag your ad once, but unless he uses a different addy, he wont get you again :)

another OK responder is made by devicode. the program is ok, but the customer support is the worst ive ever encountered. ive had a problem with a bug in their software once. the first few times i asked about it it took DAYs to get back to me, the follow ups took WEEKS. eventually they refused to field any of my emails. they wouldnt respond at all. it got to the point where i was just sending them daily emails like "hey fuckhead are you there? you wanna answer my questions now" just to piss them off and see if i maybe get an angry response, but still nothing. like i said, the program is ok, but as long as you never have a problem, customer support sucks
