craigslist removes captcha verification

Hi everyone. I just found out that CL removed captcha verification. Now all emails are being seen without entering the recpactha words.
Does anyone know why they did this? I mean there is a lot of spam on CL and this can only increase spam even more?

CL changes it's policies frequently, randomly, over different cities and in different sections of the same city. I think they "beta test". This is not "Big News" because they will change it back at some point, if they have not done so already.
 
I would say it's more like they seen it was pointless and just dropped it. They already have the phone bs AND the reverifying email cr*p so not much point in the captcha when it's clear it doesn't stop anyone from posting.
 
They probably think it's decreasing traffic and revenue imo. Everyone does stuff for a reason, take your guess...

It's true when you wanna make a new post. But what if you wanna see the email from an ad. something like ***@craigslist.com ? Till now you need to enter a captcha verification in order to see the email.
I'm not complaining , I just want to understand why they did this?
 
New spam filters, spam sent to a @craig address is filtered before reaching recipient.
 
i've had trouble posting on cl recently. has anyone come across this lately?
